Overview
MileFile ("the App") is a mileage tracking application developed by Fitzgerald ("we", "us", or "our"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Data Collection and Storage
Location Data
- The App uses your device's location services to track mileage during trips
- Location data is stored locally on your device only
- We do not transmit, collect, or have access to your location data
- Location tracking only occurs when you actively start a trip or enable Smart Start
Trip Data
- Trip information (distance, dates, locations, notes, categories) is stored locally on your device
- This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it
- We have no access to your trip history
Motion Data
- The App may use motion sensors to detect driving activity for the Smart Start feature
- This data is processed locally and is not stored or transmitted
Subscription Data
- Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store
- We do not collect or store payment information
- Apple's privacy policy governs subscription transactions
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identification information
- Email addresses (unless you contact us)
- Location history
- Analytics or usage data
- Advertising identifiers
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. Your trip data remains on your device unless you choose to export it.
Data Export
When you export your trip data (CSV or PDF), the file is created locally on your device. You control how and where you share exported files.
Data Retention
All data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the App will remove all associated data. We retain no copies of your information.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your information. You can delete trips within the App or delete the App entirely to remove all data.
